A cake for George

It's all a bit wacky

I tried making a themed cake once for my son, it was a Rory the racing car cake, and although he loved it and it wasn’t too bad an effort on my behalf I decided that from that point in time, I would not enter the world or creating figures out of icing and marzipan. I’ll happily leave that to my sister.
To me a kids cake needs to be exciting, full of whatever you can fit on it, a journey of exploration, kids love anything with sugar in it and so this is an opportunity to loose yourself a little in the creative process.
This was a chocolate sponge cake, layered with orange swiss buttercream, covered in vanilla buttercream and topped with sweets, macarons, huge chocolate buttons and a couple of lollipops.
